How Does Renewable Energy Help Us?
In years to come, renewable energy will be the only type of energy we have to rely on. In the past, we have relied purely on fossil fuels that (as the name suggests) were formed long in the past. While it may seem to make sense to use these natural resources there is one big problem, and that is that they are on the verge of running out altogether. Once they are gone we cannot replace them.
Renewable energy doesn’t present the same problem though, and that is why we are gradually finding more ways to power our lives with renewable energy rather than the fossil fuels we have come to rely on.
So what forms does renewable energy come in? Put simply it’s all around us. Solar power can be obtained from the sun, and hydropower comes from the sea. Think of the energy that is held within a wave crashing on the shore for example; all we need to do is figure out how to harness that energy and we can use it to power our homes in many different ways.
When we use renewable energy we are not depleting the resources around us. It doesn’t matter how much solar power we use today – the sun will still be there tomorrow to give us plenty more of what we need. The bonus is that it’s free! So if you get rid of those lights in your garden that have trailing wires that plug into the electric socket indoors and replace them with solar powered ones, they won’t cost you a cent to keep them running and they will turn on every day once the sun goes down.
The more we switch to renewable energy sources, the better off our planet will be in the future.
